Cafe Press is a favorite online website to get custom items that you can purchase or even design yourself for the perfect gift that will express your unique personality. There are millions of designs reflecting every topic you can imagine. There are even products for popular television shows such as Twilight, Glee, Star Trek and American Idol.

A popular category, that may even be controversial, is the political one. Items such as rick perry buttons and t-shirts for the 2012 campaign have been very popular. With the upcoming election year many of the political items will be the perfect vehicle for those wishing to express their political choices in a particular manner. You can get bumper stickers, posters, hoodies as well as the always popular buttons and t-shirts.

CafePress will print your item as it’s ordered and it will ship usually within 24 hours. You can even set up your own shop to sell your items. CafePress was founded in 1999 and is the leader in on-demand printing.

When you work in the medical field you have to wear scrubs. For many people it’s important to have someplace to go to purchase scrub wear that is both functional and fashionable. Wearing drab scrubs will do nothing to brighten your day. Having several sets of fashionable and functional scrub wear can make a huge difference for a dedicated medical worker.

If you are on the lookout for great looking scrub sets be sure to check out http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/. You will be delighted with the wide selection that’s available.

Be sure to check out the Urban Nursing Scrubs if you want something with a little flair that would also be functional. The heavy stitching accents make the look more modern and fun to wear.

Check out Blue Sky Scrubs if you are looking for function or even fashion. You will love what they have to offer!

Setting and Achieving Goals

Many people make the mistake of setting the wrong types of goals, and as a result either do not achieve what they really desire, or they give up entirely on their goals because they are not motivated by them. It is very important that the goals you set for yourself are aligned with the basic values you have for your life.

Your basic values are the things that you believe in, are passionate about and what you regard as important. They are who you are and what you stand for. For example, if honesty and fairness is something you value as a person, your goals and future actions should be aligned with these values. Such as making money, in a way that is fair and honest, without cheating or harming people.

Another important consideration to make when setting goals and achieving them is whether or not they challenge you. If the goals you are setting do not pull you outside your comfort zone, then you are unlikely to feel motivated and driven to achieve them. Keep in mind, however, that goals should not be too challenging, or unrealistic, or they will seem impossible to accomplish and you will most likely give up on them.

When you are setting your goals focus on thinking big and stretching your mind more than usual. What may seem possible for one person, may seem completely impossible to another. The goals you set should be based on what you realistically believe you can achieve. Make sure they are the things that you really want to do in life, and are aligned with what you believe in and believe you can achieve. If you can do this you will set goals that are right for you, and vastly increase the chances you will accomplish them.

It really is true that we become what we think. If we perceive something bad is going to happen to us, many times it does. If we believe something good is going to happen this often becomes true as well. Science has affirmed the link between positive effect and its impact on an individual’s motivation and performance.

If we expect the best or we expect the worst, we’re usually not disappointed. Each time we perceive a positive thought it increases our own perceptions of positive expectancy. For motivation to last it requires constant thinking with daily positive reinforcement.

Surround yourself with positive affirmations and you will initiate change in yourself, in your life and in the lives of others. Positive thoughts enable you to achieve self-confidence and self esteem. With these qualities you can motivate and inspire yourself.

Most motivational quotes come from learned and successful people and they’re useful in the work place and at home today and throughout the rest of your life. Just as happiness is contagious as you surround yourself with happy people, positive thinking is derived from surrounding yourself with positive quotes.

Many find it helpful to print up several of their favorite motivational sayings and place them where they’ll be seen frequently each day such as on your desk, your computer or on your mirror. What you see each day contributes to what your mind thinks and if you’re thinking it, you are consciously or subconsciously working toward that end.

View motivational quotes day after day, night after night. If we persist each day in some small way to achieve our goals then some measure of success will be ours. An old Chinese proverb cautions too, that, “Talk doesn’t cook rice.” Too many times we’re all talk and no action.

St. Clement taught, “If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes.” We must hope and dream but we must also work toward our goal. Constant reminders such as these ever-visible quotes steer us on an unwavering path to completion.

Perhaps one of the strongest motivators and risk takers ever was General George S. Patton who said, “Take calculated risks. That is quite different from being rash.” Quotes to motivate deliver the mental fuel to improve your life’s implementation. Expose yourself to these thought daily. What touches you becomes a part of you.

I love to receive gifts from my hubby and kiddies! I know I can expect to receive something wonderful for my birthday and Christmas, but it’s those “no reason” gifts that are the most appreciated.

My kids have written from the heart notes in their messy handwriting just to say “I Love You, Mom” and occassionally i get breakfast in bed on the weekend. My husband takes the easy route. Sending flowers is his weapon of choice. LOL!

But it doesn’t matter to me because receiving a dozen roses in a beautiful vase or beautiful daisies or chrysanthumum’s is always a treat. **See e-how for the best tips on how to care for live plants**

What ways do you tell your family and friends that you love them?

Some great acts of kindness tips from Oprah.com:
1. Say “Good morning” to a person standing next to you in the elevator.

2. Pay the toll for the driver behind you.

3. Take a minute to direct someone who is lost, even though you’re rushing.

4. Write a letter to a child who could use some extra attention. Kids love getting mail.

5. Offer to pick up groceries for an elderly neighbor, especially in extreme weather.

6. Give a homeless person your doggie bag.

7. Say “I love you” to someone you love.

8. Put a coin in an expired meter.

9. Help a mother carry her baby stroller up the subway stairs, or hold a door open for her.

It seems as if some people are born smart and possess incredible talents such as singing, playing an instrument or they have the ability to solve problems with amazing speed. Many people wonder what’s the difference between the average person and the one who seems to always excels. Some students struggle in school while many others seem to need little studying time. Still others are able to function at optimal levels with little preparation.

What is the difference? What makes us so different? Your brain, your mind, needs to be enhanced. The intelligence is there it just needs to be maximized and expanded. It’s the same with your body. The muscle is there, it just needs to be exercised and encouraged to expand. As you enhance your mind, you enhance your ability to achieve success. Success follows success.

Two ways to enhance mind development are audio and video programs. CD or MP3 downloads are perfect for the person that is always on the go and chooses to maximize their time while in the car or on the stairmaster at the gym. For the student that is preparing for exams such as sat prep or college entrance exams, video programs or private study may be the key to success.

Your mind has stored in it an unbelievable amount of power. It needs to be excercised like any other part of the body. You use it or it gets lost. Exercise it daily with positive brain exercises. To keep the brain fertile and active try mind stimulating reading, puzzles or learning a new subject.

In my city we have been experiencing cooler weather also. My family has had to break out the hoodies and fleece jackets for the morning commute. We had such a hot summer the cooler temperatures are welcome. Such a welcome change! No more burnt grass, water restrictions and hopefully drought conditions.

Although, it’s not quite time to break out the snow blower just yet, it’s really nice to feel a break in the weather. Cooler temps always bring to mind the Christmas season, burly coats and thick scarves. This is one of the most wonderful times of the year. It’s not too cold and not blistering hot–the temperature is perfect.

What are some things you like to do when the temperatures cool down? I think it’s a great time to cuddle under the covers and watch a great movie, go out to Starbucks and getting that latte that you’ve been craving or go shopping for the perfect winter coat. My kids love to put on their favorite pajamas, get some hot cocoa and popcorn and watch their favorite movies.

I’m ready for the change in weather! How about you?

People of action are usually organized and seem to know exactly how to proceed from one project to another seamlessly and without effort. Others flounder in a world of disorganization, haplessly moving one piece of paper to another location without knowing why. At the end of the day, the doers typically have more energy than at the beginning as they feed on taking action.

The flounders at the end of the day are still floundering and can’t understand why nothing has been accomplished and they feel exhausted. They step back to assess their day’s accomplishments and deceive themselves into believing progress is being made, when in reality little or nothing has been done.

For these people, organization is an essential key. Whether it’s for your home or business, make a to-do list and prioritize it. Put the most important ones at the top and each time you complete a goal or project scratch it off and feel the satisfaction. Don’t mark it off until it’s done. No cheating or rationalizing.

When everything on the list is finished, reward yourself. Even if you don’t quite complete the list in one day, go ahead and celebrate your victories. This gives you something to look forward to and gives you incentive to accomplish more. Again, be honest with yourself and only accept reward when deserved.

Another plan of action states that you can waste too much time making lists and you should visualize your task at hand until you have the energy to do it. They suggest you sit quietly, clear your mind of all other things and concentrate on your task or goal at hand. See yourself doing the project in vivid detail. Whatever the job entails imagine yourself doing each and every step.

Thought waves become energy waves as you focus your mind on one central thought. These energy waves build until you feel the energy surging inside you pushing you into action. You’ll build up so much energy you will be forced to act. At that point, take action. It could be just a small part of your overall project but let yourself be compelled to action. This energy will dissipate, so do as much as you can before it leaves your body.

You’ve probably worked with a mind energy force involuntarily. There’s a problem you’ve faced during the day and can’t find a solution. Clear your mind, concentrate on the problem, even sleep on it and seemingly out of nowhere the answer becomes clear and you can take action. A happy attitude is imperative. Most people who are happy are active. Associate with happy people. Change the way your think and you will change the way you act.

Summertime always brings up memories of fun in the sun and playing in the pool with family and friends. It was always something to look forward to at the end of the day. We would jump in the pool and forget everything. Nothing else mattered.

Pool time was also the time for the dreaded pool cleanup. LOL! Nobody wanted that job. We all just wanted to get in the pool and bask in the sun. Getting pool supplies and pool accessories was always the job for the oldest child.

I’m glad that I have such fond and fun memories of summers in my backyard pool. There is nothing like enjoying a nice summer day with friends and family. Do you have a backyard pool? What are some of your favorite memories? Did pool clean up ever deter you from wanting to have a pool for your family?

Competition is defined as a contest between two rivals and the effort of two or more parties to secure the business of a third party by offering the most favorable terms. We experience competition throughout our entire life and it starts at a very early age.

We get our first taste of competition as a baby when we compete for exclusive attention from our mother. This continues as we grow older and compete for recognition from our siblings or classmates.

Early on in school, we were encouraged to win and be the best. Now, many schools are teaching it’s better to play a good game and not so important to win or be the best. Which is better could make for a long debate.

It’s difficult to be competitive without being jealous. Jealous is defined as being intolerant of rivalry and vigilant in guarding a possession. The dictionary also describes being jealous as distrustfully watchful and suspicious. Some of these qualities are not ones we want to cultivate.

As we become competitive and jealous we learn to believe that another person’s success lessens our own. In business we want that exclusive contract with X Company, as a person we demand exclusive love from our mate, as a neighbor we may want a bigger house and a fancier car. Competition may be advantageous to a point as long as it doesn’t render us jealous and possessive.

We must think of the world as abundantly filled with enough for everyone. If we don’t have as much as our business associates and neighbors we should be happy for their success and help them achieve more if possible. It’s impossible to help others achieve without helping ourselves at the same time.

We’re all born with our personal talents and there are others who have talents we’ll never possess. We’ll probably never win an Olympic gold medal but we’re happy for those who do. We enjoy their accomplishments vicariously. Many watch athletic events and cheer on their team and celebrate their victory. We must do this in everyday life as well.

Learn from those who are better than you and improve. Surround yourself with happy successful people and you’ll be happy and successful too. Strive not to be in competition and jealous of everyone but to work with everyone to achieve a common goal. If you lose something after you’ve done all you can to keep or gain then be happy for whoever gained it. This isn’t easy, but neither is life.

Be inspired with success whether it’s yours or others. Strive to be the best but eschew jealousy. Enjoy life and each day in it. Don’t allow your ego to get in the way of a life filled with happiness. You are part of the world as a whole. Fill it the best you can.
