Snack Ideas by D. Stevens Ardoin
One of the things that is a constant source of frustration for me is snack time after school. When the kids come home from school they are still full of energy and always hungry. They are starting to get tired of the tried and true pb&j sandwiches and fruit. Good snack ideas are always good to have on hand! Here are some good snack ideasĀ for those hungry kiddos:
1. Any kind of smoothie is always good. Kids love to pick the ingredients and blend away in the blender.
2. Low-fat cheese and crackers and fruit. I can’t always get away with an apple or banana. Try sliced strawberries, canteloupe, mango and watermelon. Anything colorful and cut up is a hit.
3. Homemade blueberry muffins
4. Homemade chocolate chip cookies with pecans (sneak some whole wheat flour in)
5. Fruit popsicles
