Healthy Pantry-Part 2

Healthy Living

A healthy pantry should have a wide variety of condiments, such as ketchup, mustards (yellow, dijon), pickles, relish, mayonnaise, low sodium soy sauce, Worcestershire sause, hot sauce, and steak sauce. These items add interest and flavor to any dish.

Oils and Vinegars: I love to use Extra Virgin Olive Oil in everything. It’s healthy for you and tastes great. You can use it to make great dressings for salads. The internet has a great variety of recipes to choose from. Stock great vinegars such as white wine, red wine, apple and balsamic.

Peanut Butter, Jams & Jelly: Peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches is the ultimate healthy snack.  Try other butters such as almond or cashew and try using honey instead of jelly

Spices: Onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, chili powder, basil, thyme, cumin, paprika, are all great spices to have on hand along with the classic salt and pepper. I like to use seal salt and kosher salt.
