Motivation—What To Do When You Aren’t Inspired

Inspiration, Live Better Now!

Everyone loses sight of their motivation at some point. The key is to find your motivation again. Don’t let yourself become bogged down to the point that you want to give up or quit. Quitting is never an option! If you’re feeling uninspired by the loss of motivation, here are some ways to motivate yourself again:

Give yourself a pep talk-Rather than putting yourself down for feeling unmotivated, give yourself a pep talk. Encourage yourself. Remind yourself of all the things you have accomplished to date. Sometimes a little pep talk will go a long way.

Turn on some music-There is nothing like a shot of your favorite music to get you pumped up again. Put on your favorite CD or turn the radio on and belt out those tunes. Dance around. Sing along. After a few songs, you’ll feel rejuvenated and ready to face the world again.

Read an inspiring book-Self-help books and autobiographies are often very inspiring. If you enjoy reading, visit your local library and pick up a non-fiction book in one of these categories. Chances are, before you even finish reading the book, you’ll probably be motivated once again to carry on.

Color, draw, or paint- It doesn’t matter if you aren’t an artist. If you don’t like to draw, grab a set of paintbrushes and paint or crayons and a coloring book and have at it. Doing something as simple as coloring in a coloring book can help release pent-up negative emotions and stir up creativity once again to inspire you.

While all of these ideas are simple, they work. If you are feeling a loss of motivation, why not give one or all of these ideas a try? Test them for yourself and see if they won’t work for you.
