Live Better Now!

Stress causes your heart rate to increase, which causes a rush of adrenaline to course through your body. Stress can even have harmful effects on your immune system. Knowing how damaging stress is to your body, it is imperative that you take measures to decrease stress in your life. Meditation has been used for many years to relieve symptoms of stress. Some of the benefits to meditation for stress relief are:

Meditation restores balance within you – One of the greatest causes of stress is a feeling of being out of balance. You might feel like your world is spinning out of control or that you can make sense of your life any longer. If you feel stress because of this, meditation will help restore that sense of balance inside yourself.

Meditation will help create a feeling of calmness – Stress often makes you feel nervous and on edge. You feel like you might explode at any moment. Or worse yet, you might feel as though you just want to give up and stop trying. Through meditation, you will call forth a calmness deep inside you that will eliminate the stressful feeling.

Meditation puts you back in control – Stress can also make you feel as though you have absolutely no control over yourself or your life. This is probably the worst possible feeling in the world. As you practice meditating daily, you will gradually begin to feel like you are in control again.

Many people question how to meditate. While there are various methods of meditation, here are some simple tips to get you started today:

Sit comfortably, in a relaxed, resting position.

Turn off all noise-makers (T.V., radio, video games, etc.).

Close your eyes.

Place your hands in your lap, palms up.

Quietly concentrate on feeling better.

That’s it! Simple and easy. Start by meditating 10 minutes or so each day. Slowly work yourself up to a half hour or hour of meditation daily.
